PARALLEL Official BISF Press Release - June 2024

ASHBURN, VA — July 2024 — Collaborative Effort Productions announced today that "Parallel" has been named an Official Selection in the 2024 Berlin International Screenwriting Film Festival (BISF) contest. The selection recognizes the project’s screenplay and places the film among this year’s curated lineup of international works considered by the festival’s screenwriting program.

Parallel is a character-driven story that follows a protagonist pushed into a collision of choices, consequences, and mirrored outcomes—where a single decision can branch into distinct realities. As the narrative moves between intersecting paths, the screenplay explores identity, ambition, and the cost of rewriting one’s life when the “right” version of the future is never fully certain.

The project is led by filmmaker Alexander Kane, who is developing Parallel through a

production and packaging approach informed by his experience across the business of film.

Kane previously co-produced The Box (2009) and has worked in distribution and finance, with a focus on aligning creative development with practical market strategy. He is also building Blitz Entertainment as a platform for future genre and character-forward projects designed for both festival and commercial pathways.

The Berlin International Screenwriting Film Festival selection adds early momentum to Parallel as Kane and Collaborative Effort Productions advance the project’s next steps, including further development and industry outreach.
